This year, the first day of Advent begins on the last day of November. As we enter this special Christmas season, we’ll hear holiday songs everywhere we go. Typically, they focus on Santa Claus or family traditions or nostalgia about the days of childlike wonder. Such feel-good songs lift our spirits and put almost everyone in a good mood.
Sadly, though, a quick online search of Christmas favorites showed “Silent Night” as the only popular carol that actually points to Christ’s birth.

Honoring God with songs will lead us into worship of the Son of God, Whose birth still changes hearts and nations.
