Have you ever walked by a friend without saying hi? Do you feel snubbed if a friend ignores you? Do you like attending a church service where no one acknowledges your existence?
Unless a person wants to hide something unseemly, few people like to feel invisible.
To some, God seems invisible, but we have only to notice a sunrise or sunset, a bird song, a newborn, a child’s laughter, or the amazing variety of colors, textures, shapes, and sizes in creation to at least suspect Something or Someone greater than ourselves exists.
We have only to read the Bible to recognize Supreme wisdom, intelligence, blessings, and love. Then, to make God perfectly clear, visible, and relatable, our Heavenly Father sent His Son, Jesus, to be seen, heard, embraced, and believed.
To remind us of Jesus Christ’s ongoing presence among us, the Lord sent His Holy Spirit to live in us and within the church Body of Christ.
Therefore, as we begin each day, let’s acknowledge God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Let’s notice the Lord’s creation and provision. Let’s invite God to be with us, and help us to honor Him throughout the day and night.
Let’s greet the Lord’s presence with thanks and praise. Let’s say hi.
Lord God, forgive us for the times we’ve forgotten You’re near. Forgive us for ignoring Your presence. Please help us to be more aware of You and more grateful for all You are and do.
Thank You for making Yourself known to us and greeting us with each sunrise. Praise You, Lord, for giving us Yourself as our Creator, Redeemer, Friend, and Lover of Life. Help us remember to greet You as we awaken, and, throughout the day, help us to say hi.
