One of the most disruptive elements in a family, church, community, or country is polarization. With heated opinions and skewed facts schisms occur, setting one person or one group against another, which causes everything from hurt feelings to all-out war!

Such senseless attitudes and prideful behavior show no respect for other people or for God! As the Bible says:

See, how good and pleasing it is for God’s people to dwell together in unity!” Psalm 133:1.

That kind of unity brings relief!

Unity also brings peace to our gatherings.

The Holy Spirit united you, so try your best to remain together. Let God’s peace keep you as one,” Ephesians 4:3.

Unity enables us to work together, more efficiently and effectively, as One.

We each have one body with many parts or members. Likewise, the Members of Christ’s Body are meant to be united together as One,” 1 Corinthians 12:12.

Unity exhibits the forgiveness, love, and peace of Christ, which we can thankfully extend to others.

If anyone has a grievance, bear with each other and forgive one another as the Lord has forgiven you. Above every other virtue, put on love, which binds you all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts for as members of His Body you are called to peace. And be thankful,” Colossians 3:13-15.

Unity helps us to be sweet-spirited.

Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, compassion for one another, and the familial love of brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude,” 1 Peter 3:8.

Most important, the Lord unites us to Himself and empowers us to represent Him as we present His Good News to the world. What an honor!

In the company of His closest followers, Jesus united with His Heavenly Father in prayer, saying, “And the glory which Thou gavest Me I have given them; that they may be one, even as We are one:I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me,” John 17:22-23, King James Version (KJV.)

Dear Heavenly Father, we’re honored to honor You by uniting in the common goal of making Your Holy Name known to the most distant people, places, and hearts on earth. Please give us Your priorities for each decision and action as You guide us in all things. Thank You, Lord, for including us in Your work on earth. Praise You, Lord, for filling us with Your Holy Spirit and uniting us as One in the Body of Christ in Jesus’ blessed Name. Amen.
