People of God, all of us have ups and downs, but, unlike the world, we have no cause for despair. God can be trusted to ultimately bring good (see Romans 8:28) for, with the Lord, nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37.)

Our Heavenly Father is holy, kind, fair, merciful, forgiving, loving, understanding, and unchanging. Therefore, we can safely place our hope in the Almighty Lord God. Hopefully, you already know that, but, if not, pray for God to give you a gift of faith as you read the Bible verses below. He will! And, if you have already placed your faith and hope in God, let these Bible verses encourage and strengthen you even more.

Keeping our minds set on God helps us to trust Him more.

“I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope,” Psalm 16:8-9, New King James Version.

Hope flourishes with courage and consistency.

“Be strong, be courageous, all you that hope in the Lord,” Psalm 31:24, Good News Translation.

Down days can lift as we praise God for the hope we have in Him.

“Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God,” Psalm 43:5, Holman Christian Standard Bible.

When we’re aligned with God’s Word, we can wait patiently, knowing He will keep His promise.

“I wait [patiently] for the Lord, my soul [expectantly] waits, And in His word do I hope,” Psalm 130:5, Amplified Bible.

What a blessing to realize the Lord is our hope!

““But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence,” Jeremiah 17:7, New Living Translation.

Believing in Christ enables us to be at peace with God and confidently put our hope in Him.

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God,” Romans 5:1-2, New American Standard Bible.

The Bible gives us cause after cause for our hope in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

“For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope,” Romans 15:4, English Standard Version.

Believing in the salvation we have through Jesus Christ covers our minds and brings hope in God’s promise of a future with Him.

“But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, and put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation,” First Thessalonians 5:7, Revised Standard Version.

It takes faith to hope! May God increase our trust in Him.

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see,” Hebrews 11:1, New English Translation.

Jesus gave His life as the final sacrifice needed for the atonement that breaks us away from the power of sin. This enormous gift now makes us at-one with God.

“Through Him (Jesus Christ) you are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your trust and hope are in God,” First Peter 1:20, Tree of Life Version.

The Bible has much more to say about hope, so, if you’d like to know more, I encourage you to search the Holy Scriptures. Meanwhile, let’s join together and pray these Bible prayers:

“ I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know him. I further pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which he has called you, how rich and glorious is his inheritance in the saints, and how immeasurably great is the power that he has exercised toward those who have faith,” Ephesians 1:17-19, New Catholic Bible.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in faith so that you overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit,” Romans 15:13, Common English Bible.

Amen.
